The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium Trilogy)The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium Trilogy) by Stieg Larsson
5 stars I enjoyed this book quite a bit. The characters were pretty good, although at times annoying, but the mystery kept me turning pages.
The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium Trilogy)The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium Trilogy) by Stieg Larsson
4 stars Very similar to Dragon Tattoo in style. I enjoyed this book quite a bit, although the characters started to wear on me at times. Still, the mystery made it worthwhile.
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Vintage)The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Vintage) by Stieg Larsson
3.5 stars A good ending to the trilogy, although it took some time for the mystery and action to pick up on this one. The series can be violent at times, but I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys crime novels.
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan: A NovelSnow Flower and the Secret Fan: A Novel by Lisa See
3 stars About 1/4 of the way through this and I couldn't take the self-hate and moved on to another book, but I came back and enjoyed the last 3/4 of the book.
HazelHazel by Julie Hearn
3 stars The second half of this book was far better than the first half. This book wasn't as good as Ivy.
RevolutionRevolution by Jennifer Donnelly
3 stars I liked this book a lot, but the events towards the end just didn't make sense to me. It was like the Wizard of Oz, but it didn't seem to fit in this book. I could have done without it. So from 4 to 3 stars due to that. Otherwise it was pretty good.
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet: A NovelHotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet: A Novel by Jamie Ford
4 stars I enjoyed the story, the sweet with the bitter. If you enjoy conclusive endings this might not be the book for you, but isn't overly sad. It almost felt like two books.
Miss Me When I'm Gone: A NovelMiss Me When I'm Gone: A Novel by Philip Stephens
3.5 stars I really liked this book when I started it. But it seemed to meander rather than going anywhere storywise. And although I didn't mind the music references at first, I eventually started skimming passages with them. There were too many for an obscure topic. I would have probably enjoyed the book if I understood more of the references.
Madonna of the Seven Hills: A Novel of the BorgiasMadonna of the Seven Hills: A Novel of the Borgias by Jean Plaidy
1.5 stars I only made it about 10% into this book. The characters were wooden. The scenes were trite. The book is written in third person omniscient. I don't know what is historical about this other than the characters existed. I couldn't read anymore.
Sarah's KeySarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
4 stars There was a lot to love in this book and the two storylines with the relationships between different characters. I wish Sarah as an adult had been shown more, but definitely a great story.
A Secret KeptA Secret Kept by Tatiana de Rosnay
4 stars It was a little difficult getting into this book at first, but I enjoyed the characters and the story. De Rosnay has a way of drawing you into a damaged and flawed character.
The Passage: A NovelThe Passage: A Novel by Justin Cronin
3.5 stars I really enjoyed this book at the beginning, but it fell apart for me at the end. It seemed disjointed and the "fate" and "faith" shoved down my throat felt false. I did like that the characters didn't really buy either concept, at least at first.
