What does SDHC stand for?

Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) is a new type of SD memory card based on the new Secure Digital Association (SDA) 2.0 specification. This new SDA 2.0 specification allows SD cards to reach higher capacities which ranges from 4GB - 32GB. These cards adhere to SD Speed Class Rating specification which defines a minimum sustained transfer speed for SDHC cards.

Key differences:

1. Capacity: As stated above, the new SDHC cards capacity will range from 4GB~32GB, whereas the older SD cards are only officially rated up to 2GB.
2. Speed ratings: Patriot SDHC Class 4 cards offer a minimum of 4 MB/s write speeds under the most demanding storage conditions. Minimum sustained write speed means, write speeds will never drop below the specified class rating.
